Magee Public Library – Full Time Children’s Specialist

Central MS Regional Library System has an opening for a full-time (40 hours/week) Children’s Specialist position at the Magee Public Library in Magee, Mississippi. This Full-Time position is responsible for all aspects of services to children and youth in the branch library. All job responsibilities are performed under the supervision of the Branch Manager and the Coordinator of Youth Services.

Minimum Qualification:

Bachelors’s Degree in Education or Early Childhood Development is preferred. Knowledge of children’s literature, current library practices, and technology is preferred.

A minimum of two to three years of work experience with children is required.

Good organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to deal effectively with the public and other employees.

Knowledge of and experience with computers.

This position will begin November 1, 2021, with an annual salary of $18,000.00 plus benefits.

Magee Public Library –

 

Central MS Regional Library System has an opening for a part-time Library Assistant position at the Magee Public Library in Magee, Mississippi. This position is for 14 hours weekly and is an hourly position at minimum wage.

The Library Assistant is responsible for the daily duties of shelving and retrieving items from the close stacks. Responsible for preserving the physical appearance and order of the collection. May assist in working the circulation desk.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School student (16 years or older) or graduate.

Ability to deal effectively with the public and other employees.

Must be able to lift 30-50lbs.

Must be physically able to put items in order on high and low shelves.

Computer literate.

Must make a passing score on the Library Skills test.
