In an annual matchup that is the highlight of the year for both the home team and visitors, the Boswell Hurricanes will host the Simpson County Academy Junior Varsity Cougars on Thursday, Oct. 3 during Boswell Regional Center’s annual Fall Ball Game. The public is invited to come out to watch the 2 p.m. football game during which the individuals served by Boswell take on their annual “rivals.”

Preceding the hotly-contested matchup, Magee Junior High cheerleaders will host the Hurricanes’ pep rally to get the team fired up and ready for the big game. Entertainment will be provided by the Mendenhall High School band.

Following the pep rally, ladies served by Boswell will be presented in a special homecoming court complete with formal dresses and tiaras. A homecoming queen will be crowned from among the chosen maids.

All are welcome to come out and enjoy this entertainment-filled game in which the two teams of athletes compete for bragging rights for Boswell’s version of the Simpson County Super Bowl. Festivities will take place in Boswell’s Green Park (Security officers will be present to provide directions).

Special thanks to the following sponsors and participants for making this event possible: Peoples Bank, Insurance Associates, South Group Insurance, Mendenhall High School band, Simpson Academy Junior Varsity football team and Magee Junior High cheerleaders.
