Republican Representative Price Wallace, 64, died unexpectedly at his home in Mendenhall on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.
Wallace was widely known throughout Mississippi for his deep knowledge of agricultural issues, his commitment to public service, and his dedication to the people he represented. Throughout his career, he worked tirelessly on behalf of residents in Simpson and Rankin counties and was recognized as a strong advocate for local communities and economic development.
Wallace played a significant role in one of the state’s most historic legislative initiatives. He also served as chairman of the House Constitution Committee and was respected by colleagues on both sides of the aisle for his leadership and willingness to work toward solutions.
Wallace began his service as a State Representative in 2018 after previously serving as chairman of the Simpson County Election Commission. Before entering the Legislature, he established himself as a successful poultry farmer and businessman.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy, as well as his children and grandchildren.
Price Wallace was a good man.
The first time he ran for office, I interviewed him several times during the campaign. Through those conversations, and through the years that followed, we became close friends. I watched him work hard for the people he served, always putting their needs first.
Price never forgot where he came from. He loved agriculture, loved Mississippi, and loved the people of Simpson County. He was known for that trademark cowboy hat, his friendly smile, and his willingness to listen.
I always admired his dedication and his heart for service. Price was one of those people who made an impression on everyone he met.
He was a big man in stature, in leadership, and in friendship. And the fact that he is gone so suddenly is hard to comprehend.
Rest easy, my friend. You will be missed.
