The situation of 18 wheelers parked on City of Magee Streets was discussed at the March 15, 2022 Board of Aldermen meeting.
A City ordinance prohibits the parking of 18 wheelers on City Streets.
Alderman Lane Steele pointed out the damage the trucks can do to the newly poured asphalt. The City spent $300,000 on new paving last month.
Any truck weighing 36,000 pounds or more can damage the streets.
Additional signs will be posted in areas of our city reminding people 18 wheelers are off limits on City Streets.
The Magee police will monitor illegal parking.
