(Monday, May 20, 2013) HealthTrust is pleased to announce the
purchase of an additional Emergency Crash Cart for Magee General Hospital. The Emergency Crash Cart is used to store and
transport medications and equipment needed during a medical emergency at the
site of the emergency so that life supporting protocols can be initiated to
help save someone’s life. This cart will store a cardiac monitor
/defibrillator, suction devices, bag valve masks of different sizes, Advanced
Cardiac Life Support drugs and various other supplies and equipment for the
immediate use of doctors and nurses. This new cart will be used in the east
wing of the hospital. Its close
proximity to patient rooms will reduce response time when seconds count.
HealthTrust is the charitable foundation for Magee
General Hospital and accepts contributions from businesses and
individuals. These contributions are
used to provide access to quality healthcare for citizens in Simpson, Smith and
neighboring counties. "The thing I love
the most about HealthTrust, is knowing that my gifts stay in this area and I
can actually see where my money goes and the people it helps,” said Cindy
McIntyre, Administrative Director of Nursing Services.
Many thanks goes to the Nursing Department of
Magee General Hospital and to others who have made designated gifts to the
HealthTrust Nursing Department Fund as monies from this fund were used to make
this life-saving purchase. Currently 75
of employees at MGH make payroll deducted contributions to HealthTrust. Employees from other businesses such as
Insurance Associates, PriorityOne Bank and the Magee Medical and Surgical
Clinic, to name a few, also make payroll deducted gifts to HealthTrust. "I am so proud of our employees for making a
difference in this area, for making a difference in people’s lives,” stated
David Keyes, co-owner of Insurance Associates.
