Chancery Judge Larry Buffington participates in Fourth of July activities at State Veterans’ Home
Chancery Judge Larry Buffington visited the State Veterans Home in Collins during the Fourth of July weekend to speak to residents as part of special activities held in commemoration of the nation’s birthday. Along with other guests, Buffington expressed his appreciation to the veterans for their service to the country in times of both war and peace.
“You have admirably served our country and are the primary reason we live in freedom,” Buffington told the veterans. “For this reason, I am proud to see the direct results of our state and counties’ investment in veterans’ homes. A lot of people, including local officials, worked to make sure this facility became a reality. Just as your commitment to your country never wavered, we delivered on the promises we made by making these essential services available to you and your families. We appreciate you and all that you did to make America the country it is today.”
Buffington told the group his appreciation for their service to the country is based as his status an American citizen, a public official and as the son of a father who served his country. Buffington’s father, the late Bobby Buffington of Magee, fought in World War II.
Buffington has served as a judge for the 13th Chancery District of Mississippi for over 15 years. The 13th District serves Covington, Jefferson Davis, Lawrence, Simpson and Smith counties.
