Nine Co-Lin student-athletes named Academic All-Americans
WESSON –The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has announced that nine Copiah-Lincoln Community College student-athletes have been named NJCAA Academic All-Americans.
Students with an accumulative grade point average of 3.8 or better on a 4.0 scale for 45 semester hours, completed three (3) semesters of college work, and lettered in one or more sports recognized by the NJCAA were eligible for nomination as Distinguished Academic All-Americans.
Receiving NJCAA Distinguished Academic All-American honors are Jeremy James of Brookhaven, men’s soccer; Mary Catherine McDonnieal of Brookhaven, women’s tennis; Kendall Logan of Natchez of Natchez, baseball; Joseph Collins of Madison, football; and Jeff DeBlieux of Houma, La., baseball.
To receive Academic All-American honors, students must achieve an accumulative grade point average of 3.6 -3.79 for 45 semester hours, completed three (3) semesters of college work, and lettered in one or more sports recognized by the NJCAA.
Receiving NJCAA Academic All-American honors are Colby Bass of Bude, men’s tennis; Tyler Fitzgerald of Florence, football; Keri Johns of Wesson, women’s soccer; and Thomas Silver of Columbia, men’s tennis.
Since 2000, Co-Lin has produced 41 Distinguished Academic All-Americans and 42 Academic All-Americans.
