I was thrilled Thursday when Parke Pepper came to visit.  Parke is the son of Mary R Johnston.....and just another one of "most favorite" young person from the past!  Of course, as soon as Parke arrived, I started on him about shooting a short video.  Although it took some arm twisting.....I won!!! Hope you will enjoy the video...and again "checking in" on a Magee favorite son.
Crazy Crazy Day!!!!!!!
Such a fun day!  The race begins in front of the Community House at 7:30...stuff all morning.....MageeNews.com big event...we are participates...begins at 10.  Ya'll can not miss the bed race.  Brandon Johnston has worked for a week preparing and "making" our bed!  Thursday afternoon, we decided to load up the bed and take the bed on a trial run on the street in front of Community House.  I had no idea how I would be able to push Brandon...but we were going to try.  What to my wondering eyes should appear...but wonderful Jill Grubbs who I convinced to be the passenger and let Brandon push.  Ok, I'm just telling ya'll our bed fliesnot bragging...just stating the facts....off down the road go Jill and Brandon!!! so funny!!!! I understand there are 5 beds in the race.  MageeNews.com has put out a challenge to PriorityOne...to be ready.  We saw the PriorityOne Group working on their bed at Whitney Barnes' home...so we had to give them a pretty tough time!!! Fun Fun Fun
The stroller race follows the bed race.  Calling all youngsters!  Bring your stroller...put your baby doll, action figure, or stuffed animal in the stroller and hit the road pushing......wild!  Don't forget Linda Bennett's Chicken Show...around 11:30 on the side of the Community House toward Highway 49...The dog parade is around noon...the car show begins Saturday morning...opportunities all day.  We'll be looking for you!
All our Simpson County teams play at home Friday night.  We will be live streaming Magee, Simpson, and Mendenhall.  Friday night is Simpson's homecoming so activities will begin around 6:15.  Magee has a recognition pre game so we will go live there at about 6:30.  Friday night football at its best...if you can't make a game...tune into one of the Simpson County games on MageeNews.com...you can watch on your computer or smart phone.
Busy weekend.
An 18 wheeler blew a tire around 9 tonight scattering tire mess all over highway 49 south.....a mess!  The police have the situation under control.
