Justice Mike Randolph visits MageeNews.com

Now, ya'll know everything is always crazy around my home!!!!! We were blowing and going ….phones ringing…Michele trying to finish just "one more thing."  Patrick trying to figure out a way to return a computer … Brandon still trying to find bike tires and me watering plants!  The phone rings and Daniel Jones informs me Mike Randolph, Supreme Court Justice was on his way for an interview!

I about had a heart attack.  We had to all go into over-drive to get our filming spot ready…I had to change clothes…and didn't know one thing about Mike Randolph.  I told Brandon to get on the computer and make notes for me.  I go "running" (yes I do run sometimes…just not very often! HA) into the house…just got pants pulled off and what do I see out the window but a "white" head…..They are here!!! I think I dressed as fast as Diane McPhail does everyday.

What am I gonna ask this man???? Is he just visiting are running for office???

Republican Brad White met me at the door as I dashed in trying to appear calm and collected (something I never am!) and made the introductions.

Before me stood Supreme Court Justice Mike Randolph from Hattiesburg!  Talking about down to earth, Mike made me feel right at home and it was my house!   Mike and I discussed the fact my sister and husband (Linda and Tom Montgomery) are very good friends of Mike's…and to top it off…Linda calls right in the middle of intros….then Mike  gets on the phone with Linda!

Lights, camera, action……and we "run with it."

Mike has been married to his wife (former Kathy Webb of Ocean Springs) for forty-five years.  They have 3 children and 4 grandchildren.  As a member of Temple Baptist Church in Hattiesburg, Mike has served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher for over 25 years.

Mike has strong military ties.  He was honorably discharged from the US Army in 1967, decorated for heroism while serving in Vietnam.  In 1975, Mike was honorably discharge U S Navy Advocate General's Corps.

Now what I couldn't quite understand was why would a very successful lawyer in South Mississippi for 30 years take a cut in pay?  (He was a high dollar lawyer trying cases all over the United States)…so I asked him!  Mike explained that when his granddaughter was born…he looked at that sweet baby and knew he had to become more politically involved…involved in making a difference.  (This is discussed on the video)

Randolph's district covers 27 counties…and Simpson is one of them.  He will be on the ballot in November when we vote for the president.

"Exercising our rights as Americans, including the freedom of religion, is very important to me.  As I said after being sworn-in as your Supreme Court Justice, 'I believe judges should fear God, be trustworthy, and hate dishonest gain.'  I am very concerned about the erosion of traditional family values in our country."  (Mike Randolph)

I'm just saying….Mike Randolph is quite impressive….he has got it together … …has experience…and believes strongly in family values.
