Chamber promotes Safety
Thursday, May 24m 2012, the Magee Chamber of Commerce sponsored a discussion led by Police Chief Randy Crawford, Investigator Mike Williams, and Stg Brad White on keeping your business and self safe.
Chief Crawford repeated the importance of contacting the police department if anyone sees anything that looks suspicious or if someone comes into your business "and just gives you that creepy feeling"….call us!  "We do not get mad if you call us…we want you too," stated the chief.  "We need everyone's help in keeping Magee safe.  The more eyes and ears we have…the better we can protect our people," explained Randy.
Investigator Mike Williams shocked quite a few of the people in attendance with gang information.  "I know many of you do not even realize there is gang activity in Magee," said Mike.  "Ever seen a pair of tennis shoes over a light line in Magee?...that is a gang marking their territory," explained Mike.  Investigator Williams will be interviewed live Monday night the 29th on MageeNews.com.  The session will be recorded for later viewing.
Stg White pointed out the importance of locking your doors…not just house…but car…truck…whatever can be broken into.
Several of the chamber members shared stories of things that have happened in their businesses.
The Magee Chamber of Commerce under the direction of President Larry Partridge and Executive Director Gail Hederman plan to continue sponsoring seminars to help our chamber members.  If you have a suggestion for a seminar, please contact Gail at the Chamber office.
Executive Director Gail Hederman prepared a delicious lunch for the attendees.
