The May 1st Board of Alderman Meeting began with a prayer by Alderman Patrick Brown and the call to order.   Next on the agenda was public comments. A member of the community spoke to the board about the loud music problem in Magee. The board discussed the problem with the loud music and what legal actions should be taken to correct it. The board then approved the minutes from the previous meeting.
In unfinished business, the board discussed and approved a bid on the North Magee Street Improvement Project.  They also discussed the water rate adjustments. They have been discussing this for several weeks and they approved to prepare an ordinance regarding the water rate adjustment.
In new business, the board approved the claims docket.
Next, Police Chief Randy Crawford discussed the police matters.  Full time dispatcher, Casey Bowen, resigned from her full time position and is going to work as a part time dispatcher. Crawford then requested that part time dispatchers, Cory Cook and Philip Allen, be moved to full time dispatcher positions. The board approved this.
In Fire Department Matters, the board discussed a budget adjustment to $1500 per diem for the fire department.
The board approved the Firework s celebration on July 4th.
The meeting was then adjourned.
