Two Armed Robbers Caught in the Act by New Hebron Police Chief

New Hebron Police Chief caught two armed robbers in the act as they allegedly attempted to rob a convenience store Wednesday night, April 25, 2012.

New Hebron Police Chief, George B. Walker, Jr. arrived at the business on Hwy 43 around 9:00 pm when he encountered an armed robbery in progress with two black males reportedly armed with handguns, officials have reported.

Chief Walker was reported to have captured one of the alleged robbers, while the second suspect fled on foot into a nearby wooded area.

According to local officials, the second suspect was apprehended within the hour once back-up authorities arrived at the scene of the robbery.

The vehicle used in the robbery matched the description given in the recent armed robbery on April 2nd, 2012 at Sonic in Magee.

The two suspects could possibly be connected in the recent reported armed robberies in Simpson County.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.
