Preacher Charged with Sales of Controlled Substance

Magee authorities arrested a preacher man Monday morning after he was observed selling an illegal substance merely feet away from a Magee Narcotic Investigator.

Criminal and Narcotic Investigator Allen Martin was in the parking lot in front of Goody’s when a black male driving a white Jeep pulled into the strip mall parking lot.  The driver of the Jeep, Rev. Samuel Magee, who formerly pastored at the Friendship Church of God in Christ, Collins, MS, and currently pastors at a, newly formed, church in Hattiesburg, MS, sold seventeen hydrocodone tablets to an unidentified male. Rev. Magee was subsequently given $102.00 in US currency in return for the prescription drugs.
Inv. Martin observed the 43 year old preacher, of Collins; execute the hand-to-hand drug transaction approximately twenty feet away.

Both subjects were arrested; Rev. Magee was charged with a felony sale of controlled substance, and the unidentified male was charged with a misdemeanor possession of controlled substance.  The white Jeep, the hydrcodone tablets, and the money used to purchase the narcotics were seized by Magee Police Department.
